Chemical Peel Kick

Sometimes we go through sugar spurts, mochi bar mania, or exercise ebbs.  Right now, I’m on a chemical peel kick.

There are so many types of peels available, it might be confusing to figure out what’s best for your skin. So let’s go into peels and why I love them so much. If you’ve done peel in the past, you may have already experienced the goodness!

  • Great exfoliation so peels are a wonderful “preventative” for heading off break outs or helping them clear up sooner
  • Induce collagen – who doesn’t need more collagen?! It helps with lifting and tightening. And did you know new collagen is shown to be in the skin for 7+ years? That’s a great incentive for us to try avoiding things we know break down collagen (think ☀️sun, smoking, etc.)
  • Peels help even out skin tone and texture, and minimize pores.
  • Improve pigment. Research shows that eliminating pigment helps us appear more youthful.
  • Glowy skin. Exclamation point!

Here’s a little snapshot of the types of peels we carry. We offer a variety of peels because clients come in with different skin concerns. Peels universally help exfoliate, but differently formulated peels are better at treating certain skin concerns or go deeper.

LET'S DIG INTO THE DETAILS

Pigment faded dramatically after only 1 treatment.

  • Maintain a gorgeous glow with quarterly peels.
Beautiful change in tone, texture and evenness after 2 treatments

DO IT YOURSELF (DIY)

Too busy to come in for a peel? DIY with SkinBetter Peel Pads. This is a perennial fave for many of our clients. An easy and convenient glow.  Its combination of proprietary retinoid, lactic, salicylic and glycolic acids provide a serious hydration AND exfoliation.

  • No visible peeling.
  • PM: Apply to dry, clean skin. Once it dries, seal in with a moisturizer.
  • Wake up dewy!
  • A great way to address surprise breakouts.

FREQUENCY: You can use the peel pads 1x a week to monthly. I keep them handy and use them if my skin feels dull.

BEST PRACTICES

  • GLOWTOX ~ Pair a peel with your Tox (neuromodulator) or filler after a peel.  Since you want to avoid laying down after neuromodulator, do a peel BEFORE any neuromodulator.
  • Stay out of the sun with any chemical peels regardless of which type. Protect your investment!
  • Try to stop any exfoliating products prior to a peel. It may irritate your skin.
